“During the second Karabakh war, the Azerbaijani soldiers demonstrated their strength to the whole world,” said head of Anadolu Aydinlar Ocagi (Intellectual's Hearth), professor Ibrahim Oztek as he addressed the conference hosted in Istanbul to mark the first anniversary of Azerbaijan's glorious Victory in the Patriotic war and the 38th anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The conference featured discussions on topics such as "The past and present of Karabakh", "Karabakh, the Great Patriotic Victory ", "Military tactics of the war", "Cyprus Peace Movement" and etc.

The Turkish professor emphasized that the glorious Victory of Azerbaijan in the second Karabakh war was the first victory of Turks in Asia in the past two centuries.

Highlighting the history of Karabakh, professor Oztek said that this region, which has always been the ancient land of Azerbaijan, was a favorable location for centuries due to its geographical position. “That is why the Republic of Armenia was established as a buffer zone by Tsarist Russia,” he mentioned. Recalling that Azerbaijanis have been subjected to many massacres such as the Khojaly genocide in the past, the Turkish professor noted that the Azerbaijani people gave a worthy response to the Armenians in the 44-day Patriotic war.

"Under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, President Ilham Aliyev, we, as an entire Turkish nation, were against the Armenian aggressive policy and did our best to convey our true voice to the world," he added.
